Abstract In wireless body area network health care applications, energy-constraint wearable devices are used to monitor patient physiological parameters. The security of the private information a person plays significant role because if it is captured and read by an unauthorized person, confidentiality data lost. Therefore, there requirement secure performing encryption transfer into unreadable form. Since resources for should be kept minimum as attached human body, lightweight algorithm has used. generation unique key role. work, generating uses ECG values taken from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database. Four keys generated, which can encryption. uniqueness randomness generated proved using runs test frequency within block. Also, average hamming distance calculated between two different signals 62.5% ( $$\approx$$ ≈ 80 bits), proves distinctiveness generated. Implementation work performed Matlab.
